Clinical Informatics Specialist

Reporting to the Project Manager Clinical Informatics, the Clinical Informatics Specialist (CIS) provides leadership and support for ehealth initiatives across the organization, serving as a role model and mentor who champions the use of technology in clinical practice. In collaboration with the Project Manager, the CIS coordinates and participates in aspects of systems analysis, planning, design, development, testing, education and implementation of information systems and clinical decision support tools. The CIS manages relationships across diverse stakeholder groups, serving as a liaison between frontline users, management, IT professionals, and Finance. The CIS is responsible for liaising with vendors, and providing user/administrative support for a variety of applications including Meditech, HInext TREAT, and Anzer MHCS. The Clinical Informatics Specialist leads and coordinates workload measurement reporting for nursing and allied health professionals. The CIS participates in planning and related efforts to advance the electronic health record within the organization and across the CE LHIN.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Undergraduate degree in a regulated clinical discipline
- MIS Guidelines Level 11 Certification an asset
- Minimum three years current health care experience in an acute care hospital setting
- Demonstrated advanced information and communication technology knowledge and skills
- Demonstrated superior communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
- Demonstrated organizational, research, analytical, time management and priority setting skills
- Demonstrated ability to function autonomously, and collaboratively with diverse teams
- Demonstrated ability/experience in the development and delivery of effective education programs using adult learning principles, and a variety of media and techniques
- Experience/aptitude for identifying and resolving information systems issues such as process/procedural changes, system enhancements, hardware conflicts and software errors
- Demonstrated strong conceptual skills including strong problem-solving, critical thinking and decision-making ability
- Demonstrated ability to mentor, coach and facilitate change and innovation
- Demonstrated knowledge of workload measurement systems
- Demonstrates an understanding of and commitment to Rouge Valley's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff safety, patient safety, environmental safety and participates in regular in-service education in this area.
- Demonstrates a commitment to customer service when dealing with patients, colleagues, volunteers and other members of the community and public.
