Admission to the Hospital |

AdmittingThe first thing to do when you arrive at the hospital as a patient is to check in at the admitting desk, where you will register and provide the information we need to begin taking care of you. Hours of operation
Monday - Friday, 6 a.m. - 4 p.m. Registrations on weekends and off hours are made in the emergency department.
What you should and should not bringItems you must bringYour Ontario Health Insurance Card Your hospital card (if you have one) Private insurance information (if applicable) Any medications you are presently taking, inhalers, creams or eye drops Your cheque book, credit card or bank debit card for telephone fees and extra expenses incurred during your stay
Items you may like to bringPersonal hygiene items that you would bring for any trip or visit (such as a toothbrush, deodorant, comb/brush, shampoo, sanitary supplies, tissues, etc.) Night attire Bathrobe and slippers Comfortable clothing (such as a track suit) A small amount of cash to purchase newspapers and toiletries Women having a baby need to bring additional items (please see the maternal and newborn page)
Items you should not bringValuables (such as jewelry or large sums of money) Heat-generating electrical equipment that can interfere with the operation of life support systems (such as hair dryers, curling irons, heating pads, etc.) Cellular phones and two-way radios Televisions
All patient-owned electrical equipment must be inspected and approved by our electrician prior to use. Rouge Valley Health System cannot accept responsibility for loss or damage to your personal items.
