About our Program

We are leaders in cardiac care.

Cardiac care is a centre of excellence at Rouge Valley Health System and in the 401 corridor of the Central East Local Health Integration Network (CE LHIN). The CE LHIN designated our cardiac care program as a regional centre in its Hospital Clinical Services Plan of 2009, recognizing the expertise of our staff and physicians. Our hospital's team, of 12 cardiologists and more than 100 health care professionals, is committed to superior clinical expertise and quality of patient care.

As the designated cardiac centre for the Scarborough-Durham area, Rouge Valley's cardiac care program is home to the most comprehensive range of cardiac services across the region. Everyday here at our two hospital campuses, our highly-qualified and experienced staff deliver excellent cardiac care to patients from local and surrounding communities.

In addition to Rouge Valley’s commitment to delivering excellent cardiac care, we are also dedicated to working with others to improve heart health in our community and beyond. That is the driving idea behind Cardiac Chronicles—Canada’s first cardiac rehabilitation magazine.

This semi-annual publication brings together the best minds and leaders in the field of cardiac rehabilitation from across the country and shares their expertise with health professionals and patients. We are excited to announce that the publication will going national in 2010!
