- June 25, 2011 - Rouge Valley Health System and Lakeridge Health have been approved by the Central East Local Health Integration Network (CE LHIN) to proceed with the voluntary integration of their cardiac rehab programs. The two hospitals will work together to establish a new regional cardiac rehabilitation and secondary prevention program serving Scarborough and Durham. - April 28, 2011 - Rouge Valley and partners celebrated the first anniversary of the fast-track emergency cardiac care program (Code STEMI) offered throughout east Toronto and Durham. See photos from the event. Also, check out an interview with patient Gary McCormack, who was treated through the fast-track program when he had his heart attack.

March 23, 2011 - RVHS cardiologist Dr. Nisha D’Mello was featured in Global Television’s evening broadcast, in a news story looking at how heart disease impacts women. Check out the video "Women and Heart Disease." Another news feature on women and heart disease, featuring Dr. D’Mello and a cardiac rehab patient, is expected to air on Global in the coming weeks.
