The clinical data scientist is a key position that will play a significant role in the expansion of the data management, business intelligence (BI) and data analytics program of the Rouge Valley Health System (RVHS) within the CIO portfolio. The goal of the RVHS BI program is to deliver actionable and reliable data and tools to clinicians and clinical program management staff in order to monitor and improve the performance of the processes that they are responsible for and ultimately provide best possible quality and safe healthcare to our patients. The clinical data scientist will provide technical leadership in the design and integration of clinical data systems, assure quality of data and work collaboratively with clinical and non-clinical users to create BI dashboards to support their data needs.
Advanced degree (MSc or higher) computer science, computer engineering, or information sciences.
Advanced problem solving and analytical skills.
Demonstrated knowledge of application design, development, testing and implementation, methodologies and tools.
Experience with databases, application and data integration, web services and web applications development, data warehousing architectures and methods
Data modeling experience (normalized and multidimensional).
Hands on experience developing applications using Data Warehouse and Data Mart technologies, tools and products and in using SQL Server 2008, MySQL, or similar platforms.
Experience with the ETL process, also designing and implementing reports using a variety of reporting technologies
Knowledge of the healthcare domain, trends and standards.
Ability to develop, organize, and author technical and non-technical documentation
Excellent interpersonal and communications skills both written and verbal. Ability to communicate effectively with non-technical stakeholders.
Multi-task Oriented - ability to change gears quickly, analyze and assess and make appropriate recommendations both internally and externally
Prioritize tasks accordingly with an ability to see the "big picture" while prioritizing a varied workload.
Excellent organizational and time management skills
