News Release

June 18, 2009 - Rouge Valley Health System's 11th Annual General Meeting of Members celebrates a year of positive change on Tuesday, June 23, at 7 p.m.

“This year's Annual General Meeting (AGM) of Members is our opportunity to highlight our successes as a team,” says Janet Ecker, chair of the Rouge Valley Health System (RVHS) Board of Directors.

The meeting, which is open to the public, takes place at the Scarboro Golf & Country Club, 321 Scarborough Golf Club Road. The club has generously donated use of the facilities to the hospital for the AGM.

The meeting will cover official AGM business, including: approval of the previous AGM's minutes, appointment of auditors, receipt of financial statement for the last fiscal year, approval of by-law amendments, and election of directors of the board.

All members are invited to attend. Members of RVHS include the directors of the hospital corporation, adult volunteers, adult auxiliary members and individuals who donated $20 or more ($100 or more for corporations or associations) to the RVHS Foundation between April 1, 2008 and March 31, 2009. To confirm your membership, please call the Foundation at 416-281-7342. To download AGM documents or get more information, please visit www.rougevalley.ca/agm_2009 . The members of the 2009 - 2010 RVHS Board of Directors will also be elected and introduced.

New this year is a report from the newly-formed RVHS Community Advisory Group. The volunteer group serves as a meaningful link between the RVHS patient communities of east Toronto and west Durham.

- Medical equipment fair -

Also new to the AGM is an equipment fair that will showcase medical equipment RVHS has purchased during the past year. The fair will also feature equipment the hospital hopes to purchase in the next 12 months. The fair is designed to demonstrate just how our donors' generosity results in better patient care.
