Rouge Valley Health System is recruiting for a full time Laboratory Quality Improvement Manager to lead the Laboratory Quality program by planning, developing, implementing and evaluating quality improvement initiatives and targets while utilizing Lean to improve patient experience/customer service. The successful candidate will:

      • Assist the laboratory in maintaining high standards and achieve compliance to applicable accreditation programs and regulatory agencies
      • Participate on Corporate Quality and Lean committees to identify, develop and implement quality plan/initiatives, in conjunction with appropriate multidisciplinary care teams, to achieve consistent quality standards, practices, outcomes and Patient Experiences to support continuous improvement throughout RVHS
      • Prepare, analyze, and present both lab test utilization data and performance material related to quality assurance reports, good laboratory practice and corporate utilization for all areas of the lab
      • Ongoing assessment and support of key functions regarding continuous quality improvement including the auditing and resolution of errors and incidents
      • Work with Lab Management and Clinical Teams, including Physicians, to ensure staff competency and issues of quality care are resolved promptly though action plans and strategies
      • Act as a project manager of selected high priority quality improvement and change initiatives in the Lab to support, improve and advance work processes
      • Maintain and administer the document control processes for the development and review of Laboratory technical and quality policies and procedures
      • Act as a resource, in the absence of or in addition to the Laboratory Manager, performing assigned functions, tasks and call as required
        • REQUIREMENTS:
  • Graduate of a Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) program

    Current Registration with the CMLTO

    Five (5) years technical laboratory experience

    Extensive experience in Quality Improvement as well as Certification from a recognized Quality Management program or equivalent, preferred

    Three (3) years managerial experience, preferred

    LEAN Designation and/or Project Management Certification, preferred

    Strong computer background, proficiency in Microsoft Office required and Laboratory Information Systems, Meditech, preferred

    High degree of professionalism and initiative, with the ability to function independently in a position with limited immediate supervision

    Evidence of excellent sound organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to work well in stressful situations
