Reporting to the Interim Manager, Compensation, Benefits & Worklife Cycle the HR Assistant provides administrative and technical support for a variety of Human Resources functions.  The incumbent will provide reception coverage, assist with maintenance of paper- and system-based records; prepare reports and provide other general human resources administrative support.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Completion of secondary school diploma

  • Minimum 2 years office experience, preferably in a heath care setting or unionized environment

  • Familiarity with Human Resources Information Systems or similar type of business system

  • Strong computer skills:  Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills, and the ability to multi-task

  • Commitment to good quality client service

  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to safety programs and practice, including occupational safety, patient safety, etc., and participates in regular in-service education in this area.

  • Appreciation for diversity issues

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills with the ability to work well with all levels of staff

  • Ability to work well independently and to exercise sound judgement

  • Ability to perform the essential duties of the position

  • Demonstrated pattern of good attendance
