Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for payroll transactions and related account reconciliations and for ensuring that payroll information is accurate and processed in a timely manner. The incumbent will act as a source of information relating to payroll policies and procedures and will comply with internal and external audit requirements for both sites.
Minimum 3 years’ recent experience in payroll administration, preferably in a hospital environment
Thorough knowledge of all components of payroll processing: ROE, Maternity SUB plans, general accounting with experience in reconciliations, collective agreements, Canada Revenue Agency; Payroll practices.
Post-secondary education or training in the area of Payroll
CPA designation preferred
Familiarity with computerized in-house and external Payroll Systems (Meditech familiarity is an asset)
Must be a team player and demonstrate the ability to develop and sustain cooperative working relationships with employees at all levels; ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality
Exposure to Lean principles, an understanding of methodologies and tools and a commitment to the use of these in support of providing the best healthcare experience possible to our patients
Excellent organizational and time management, prioritization and analytical skills
Computer skills – Microsoft Excel mandatory
Demonstrated pattern of good attendance
Demonstrates an understanding of and commitment to Rouge Valley's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff safety, patient safety, environmental safety and participates in regular in-service education in this area.
Demonstrates a commitment to customer service when dealing with patients, colleagues, volunteers and other members of the community and public.
