Our highly-respected Surgical Department has always emphasized excellence in patient care.
Many of our more than 120 surgeons and anesthesiologists at our two hospitals have developed strong regional and national reputations for their skills. Combined, the Rouge Valley surgery department at both hospitals perform more than 24,000 procedures each year.
The surgical program at Rouge Valley Health System involves some 95 beds and more than 40 surgeons offering services in:
- General Surgery;
- Orthopedics;
- Plastic Surgery;
- Urology;
- Gynaecology;
- Opthalmology;
- Ear Nose and Throat (ENT);
- Laparascopic surgery.
The Surgical Department is well represented in the area of General Surgery, with subspecialties that include Thoracic and Vascular Surgery, Dental Surgery, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Neurosurgery, Orthopedics, Gynecology, Ophthalmology, Otolaryngology and Urology.
Rouge Valley surgeons work closely with a top-notch multi-disciplinary team that includes anesthesiologists, and specialist nurses, all working to provide the best care possible to our surgical patients.
One of the goals of this program is to make it a pain-free surgical experience. Staff is working towards this with the introduction of new pain management programs.
