Family Centred Care
Family Centred Care is not a buzzword expression at Rouge Valley Health System. It's an entire approach to quality patient care. In fact, we've spelled out our Eight Dimensions of Family Centred Care. Family Centred Care is part of our vision. We want patients and families more informed and involved in their health care. We are developing program-specific initiatives to help patients and families take a more active role in their health care if they wish. Community members are encouraged to become involved in their hospital system. Contact us to learn how you can actively participate in Rouge Valley Health System (RVHS). It is the goal of RVHS' Family Centred Care to provide the best possible health care for the specific needs of all members of the family. Our Family Centred Care model supports the right of patients, or their families when necessary, to take an active role in deciding on types of treatment. Our health care team will help with these decisions by providing honest and practical information explained in everyday terms. The information provided will be balanced with realistic and probable outcomes for the various treatment options available to patients.
