 Shirley Rowland
Shirley has been a resident of Ajax for 63 years, and has been an active member of the hospital Auxiliary for 55 of those years. In that time, she has served terms as president, treasurer and secretary of the Auxiliary, and has chaired various committees. She also spent four years as a member of the hospital’s Board of Directors. As the Auxiliary’s historian, Shirley has been the winner of photographic competitions depicting the Auxiliary at both national and provincial levels. She has volunteered with other community organizations as well, often serving on their Executives. Shirley worked over 50 years in payroll personnel administration before retiring in 1992.
