Community Services for New Mothers & Families

Healthy Babies Healthy Children

Healthy Babies Healthy Children (HBHC) is a free home-visiting program led by public health, which supports new mothers and their family with:

  • Developing a positive relationship with your baby; and

  • Promoting your child's growth and development.

While you are still in the hospital after having your baby, one of our nurses will find out if you would like be seen by a nurse from the public health department for either the City of Toronto or Durham Region. The public health nurse will come to your home to provide support, as well as connect you with newborn care services in your community.
